Guardians are one of the types of Abilities in Orcs Must Die! Unchained. Gaurdians, whilst not essential, are a great asset in keeping minions at bay and away from the rift. All maps have Guardian stones positioned across the map at strategic locations. Both Guardian Stones and Guardians will have a symbol associated with the, summoning a Guardian on a Guardian Stone with a matching symbol will grant the Guardian significant bonuses. Players can carry a maximum of two Guardians in their inventory, each of which is a single use per game, that can be unlocked through Chests. Guardians once unlocked are a permanent part of the inventory and cannot be overused or lost.
Guardian Function
- Guardians have a strong, sweeping melee attack
- Guardians will walk several (2 at most?) squares away from their Guardian Stone in order to do melee attacks
- Guardians each have a ranged attack
- Most enemies (except the extremely fast variety) will stop to engage the Guardian
- Guardians have limited health that cannot be regenerated
Guardian Properties
- Guardian Stones cannot be placed or moved by players
- Guardian Stones will show their location type on pregame maps
- Guardian Stones will NOT show their location type on the minimap of active games
- Guardian Stones always show their location type when looked at by players in active games
- Guardians cannot be de-summoned when placed
- Guardians, once summoned, are removed from the players inventory for the remainder of the game and cannot be summoned elsewhere
- Guardians, once they have died, cannot be resummoned or placed elsewhere for the remainder of the game
- A maximum of two Guardians may be equipped to the inventory at once
- All Guardians have a location type
- Guardians gain an aura, +100% Health and +100% damage when summoned at a matching location
